Breakfast French Toast

Ingredients

1 loaf french bread (large)

10 eggs (large)

1 cup sugar, divided

3 ½ cups milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

6 to 8 cooking apples

3 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

½ to 1 stick butter or margarine

Directions

Slice bread into 1 ½” slices.

Grease 9x13 casserole.

Place bread side by side tightly
In bowl, mix eggs, ½ cup sugar, milk and vanilla.
Pour ½ of mixture over bread.

Peel and thinly slice apples.
Place evenly over bread.

Pour remaining mixture over bread.

Mix ½ cup sugar with spices: cinnamon and nutmeg.
Sprinkle over apples.

Dot with butter and cover tightly.

Refrigerate over night.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Uncover and bake for 1 hour.

Let set before cutting.
